COOLCATION Book
After seven years on the road, COOLCATION is published – a book based on my own travels and experiences through the Nordic countries and Europe. I have more than 15 years of experience in tourism and travel agency and have run the platform TheTravelBook for the past seven years. During the same period, I have consciously chosen not to fly and instead traveled by road in an electric car.
COOLCATION is the sequel to my first coffee table book, Staycation in Denmark , which was published during Covid-19. The book struck a chord with a time when many were rediscovering their own country, and the 3,000 copies produced sold out in a short time.
Where Staycation in Denmark was about finding peace and experiences in the local area, COOLCATION moves north and out into the world again. A coolcation is for me the art of traveling towards cold, clarity and contrasts – choosing the fresh air over the heat, the silence over the pace and finding a quiet form of luxury in simplicity.
In COOLCATION I have handpicked places in Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland, where nature, accommodation, gastronomy, architecture and people come together in a higher unity. The book is not a traditional guidebook, but a travel story in pictures and words based on personal meetings with local hosts, architects, chefs and enthusiasts. The story is carried by my own words and photographs and supplemented by illustrations created specifically for the book by Anders Morgenthaler.

COOLCATION challenges the idea that holidays should be fast, sunny and far away. Instead, the book invites you to travel slower, more consciously and with greater respect for nature and the places you visit – without compromising on aesthetics, comfort and quality.
